- Festivalpark Werchter, Belgium

Werchter Parklife is a cashless event. Within the Festivalpark, you can pay for food and drinks with Coins, Werchter Parklife's own digital currency. Coins can be purchased during the festival via the QR code on the tag of your festival wristband, via the Werchter Parklife app or at the counters. One Coin costs 3.90 euros. After purchase, Coins will be added to the chip of your festival wristband and can be used immediately. Swipe your wristband at the reader at the drink and food stands to pay.

A Coin costs 3.90 euros.

How can I buy Coins?

Coins can be purchased during the festival via the QR code on the tag of your festival wristband, via the Werchter Parklife app or at the counters. One Coin costs 3.90 euros. After purchase, Coins will be added to the chip of your festival wristband and can be used immediately. Swipe your wristband at the reader at the drink and food stands to pay.

You can order Coins in several ways:

  • At the top-up counters. You can pay at the counters with any payment card, with the major payment apps or with cash.
  • Via the QR code on the tag on your wristband: Scan the QR code with your smartphone camera (not with your banking app!), follow the instructions and purchase your Coins.
  • Via the Werchter Parklife mobile app
Why this cashless system? Why can't I use my debit or credit card or a payment app to pay at the drink and food stands?

We have chosen this closed-loop cashless system because it offers good stability, since the counters and food stands are not dependent on the connectivity of the payment terminals or mobile networks. This ensures that both payment and service proceed more smoothly.

This system also makes it easy to automatically refund deposits. When returning a reusable cup, the 0.2 Coin deposit is immediately placed back on your tag. Do you return 15 RPET bottles or cans to a recycling or return stand? Then you will receive 1 free Coin in exchange.

Can I get a refund for any unspent Coins after the festival?*

Yes, you can request a refund from Thursday 2 July 2026 at 11.00 am until Sunday 2 August 2026 at 11.59 pm, on this page. After this period has elapsed, no refunds will be processed.

  • The refund will be processed no later than one week after your request.
  • An administrative fee of €3.50 is charged per refund.
  • Registration is required to submit a request.
  • Within the EU: choose IBAN payment.
  • Outside the EU (no IBAN): choose international payment.

For Coins purchased for Werchter Boutique or Rock Werchter, the refund is processed via werchterboutique.be or rockwerchter.be, respectively.

(*Only Coins you have purchased will be refunded, see conditions of sale).

Why is there a refund fee?

An administrative fee of €3.50 is charged for every refund. Each request is manually checked and processed. These and other service and processing costs are included in the refund fee.

Anyone who has fully used all the Coins on their wristband or card naturally does not need to request a refund and therefore does not pay a refund fee.

Tip: Try to end your festival with a Coin balance of zero. It is simpler than it seems. For example, do you have 0.2 Coin left? Then you can buy an additional 0.8 Coin via the QR code, the app, or at the cash desk. With 1 Coin, you can, for example, purchase an R-PET or canned drink.

Cashless Help desk

Are you having problems, with loading for example? Then we are happy to help at any of our cashless helpdesks in the Festivalpark.

You can also reach the team before, during or after the festival via cashless@livenation.be.

Where can I check my Coin balance?

It’s easy to check your Coin balance at the bars, food stands and at the booths. Have you bought your Coins using a QR code and are therefore a registered user? Then you can view your Coin balance in the same way, as well as check a summary of your orders.

We'd like to share a kitty with friends. How to do this?

Would you like to set up a kitty with your friends? You can do this with the Groupie card. Buy Coins together at a top-up booth and have them placed on one shared card, the Groupie card, that you use together. The Groupie card is available at any top-up booth. A minimum purchase of 10 Coins applies.

Is this a secure system?

Yes, this payment system is secure.

A few additional tips to avoid abuse :

  • Don't share any pictures of your QR code or tag on social media.
  • Create an account. As a registered user, you are protected against the loss of your card/bracelet (and thus your Coins).
I have lost my wristband with tag/my card with Coins. What can I do?

Are you a registered user? Did you top up Coins via the QR code or app and therefore create an account? Then please report to the cashless helpdesk. Your card or wristband will be blocked there. After verification of your ID and ticket, you will receive a new card or wristband, onto which your remaining Coins will be loaded.

Are you an unregistered user? Did you purchase your Coins at a top-up booth and not create an account? In that case, the wristband or card, as well as the Coins on it, are unfortunately lost, and our helpdesk staff cannot transfer your balance.

What personal details are on the tag in my wristband?

The wristbands at the festival are equipped with a tag/chip. You receive this wristband at the entrance in exchange for scanning your festival ticket. From that moment on, the chip on your wristband is your key to the festival. The tag itself contains no personal data. This remains the case even when you top up your Coins at the top-up booths. If you purchase Coins via the QR code on your wristband or via our mobile app, you create an account. In that case, some data, such as your email address, is stored to process the payment and transactions.

Can I request an invoice for my purchased Coins and/or consumption?

We are unable to provide an invoice for your purchased Coins. After the festival, you can generate and download receipts through your cashless account. These receipts provide an overview of all the products you consumed, listed in euros. You can add your own details to the receipts, such as name/company, address, and VAT number. Once a receipt has been generated, these details can no longer be modified.
